Combined Authority Mayoral Elections
Please note that the North East England Region of the Green Party has historically not contested these elections.
The deposit of £5,000 for each candidate in our region is punitive, and restricts participation to those with rich backers.
We believe that this is undemocratic. While this is still true, in 2024 we believe it is important to have Greens on the ballot, and as such we will be crowdfunding these deposits- please find more info on the donations page, or the pages for the relevant elections.
